Today I had the pleasure of attending the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. I have attended and participated in this walk for three consecutive years and each time I come home with a full heart! This time I came home with a full belly too.
Our day began at 6:45 AM in downtown Sacramento at Roosevelt Park near the Capitol. It was pouring rain, we were cold, and all of us were smiling and ready to walk in honor of those affected by breast cancer. The walk began at the Capitol building and stretched across the Tower Bridge (pictured), then finished with a loop around Raley Field!
After the walk I headed to Mimosa House in East Sacramento with some friends to get some yummy brunch (because mimosas!) and check out a fairly new restaurant. Our waitress let us know that they opened in August and should soon be having a grand opening. The place was definitely packed, however we were seated within fifteen minutes! We were able to sit on the covered patio and listen to the rain while we enjoyed our food. I ordered the salmon eggs Benedict and a coffee. The menu offers a wide selection of breakfast favorites, mimosa + juice pairings, and southwest style cooking! All I can say is I will definitely return, check out the photos below and maybe you’ll find yourself there!
